While at the SVFK workshops, Scott William Raby produced several objects for his upcoming solo-project Proxy Harbor Environs at OXER in Ebeltoft, Denmark.

June 2021

The objects produced were stainless steel placards that will be placed in public spaces on the Ebeltoft harbor front as part of larger project installation including performances and different public exchanges. The placards will contain laser engraved vignettes written by the artist, that will detail narratives on the ecological and economic futures of the site in relationship to its unique history, culture, and aesthetics.

Proxy Harbor Environs is part of an ongoing series of artistic interactions and engagements that Raby has unfolded as The Nomadic Platform for Eco-Economic Futures (NPEF) – an ongoing platform-as-project. The NPEF aims to explore sustainable perspectives, alternative economies, community interactions, and commoning practices – in this instance on the harbor and its development in relation to its socio-economic and eco-political position.

The placards themselves were upcycled from a repurposed stainless steel shelf purchased at the nearby Christiana flea-market.
