Since autumn 2021, Pedro Boese has been working on a series of prints entitled Parallel in which relief and intaglio techniques are combined. The graphic workshop at SVFK enables him to print in a larger format and herewith achieve a more complex composition.

In the series Parallel, I follow the idea of interpreting a printed work as an object, as a unity of motive, paper and frame. A central aspect is thus the relation of the print’s visual space, the space around it and between each work. Besides formal questions, however, what drives me the most, is the potential of colour, its different qualities and its ability to change when interacting.
For the project at the residency, I drew three motives that were developed into a triptych. The motives were then printed in an edition of 6 copies + EA and measure 98 x 78 cm each.
