Signe Lund – one part of the design duo, Ahm & Lund, has been working in the wood workshop to produce a lamp for the bespoke annual exhibition platform, The Cabinetmakers’ Autumn Exhibition. The lamp called VEIL is made in collaboration with andtradition concidering the theme for this year’s exhibition, “LIGHT & FORM”, exhibited at Museum Ordrupgaard.
Nov. 2026
Veil explores the subtle dialogue between light and shadow through a restrained and tactile construction. Two slender wooden boards gently hold a thin sheet of paper, which wraps itself around the post in a soft, continuous gesture. The paper acts as a membrane rather than a surface. It shapes, filters, and tempers the light as it drapes and settles. When illuminated, the lamp reveals shifting tonal gradients: sharp lines give way to diffused glow, and the recess becomes a luminous seam running through the object.
The lamp balances precision and fragility, weight and lightness. Its form is defined not only by what is built, but by what is left open. Inviting light to articulate the object from within, and shadow to complete its presence in space.
