We are happy to announce that Textile Designer Margrethe Odgaard and Furniture Designer Rasmus Bækkel have agreed to collaborate on the exhibition design and curation concerning the exhibition during 3daysofdesign Selected Projects 2025 at the Danish Art Workshops.
Jan. 2025
Margrethe Odgaard’s work has garnered numerous prizes and awards, including the three-year work grant from The Danish Arts Foundation in 2015, the prestigious Torsten & Wanja Söderberg Prize in 2016 and most recent The Art, Design, and Architecture Prize from the Einar Hansen og Hustru fru Vera Hansens Fond in 2023.
Before setting up her design studio in 2013, Odgaard worked as a printing assistant at The Fabric Workshop and Museum in Philadelphia, USA, followed by seven years as textile designer in the French fashion company EPICE. She graduated from The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Design in 2005 with additional studies at Rhode Island School of Design in USA.
Rasmus Bækkel takes a highly conceptual approach to his work. He considers art and design as equals but positioned at opposite ends of the scale, and he systematically seeks to explore and challenge genre conditions and boundaries and view furnitures as functional sculptures.
Bækkel graduated from The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Art, School of Design in 2012 with additional studies at Konstfack in Stockholm. Besides working with self-initiated projects in his studio in Elsinore, he designs industrial produced furniture for companies such as Frama and Brdr. Krüger.
