Dr.Martí Ruiz i Carulla er professor og forsker ved Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Barcelona.

Mandag d. 15. maj kl. 14-15.30 gæster han Statens Værksteder for Kunst og fortæller om Baschet-brødrenes historie og essentielle bidrag til musikvidenskaben.

François Baschet (billedhugger) og Bernard Baschet (ingeniør) skabte fra 1950’erne innovative lydskulpturer og musikinstrumenter, såsom den oppustelige guitar og ‘krystal-Baschet’en’, hvilket gav dem en status som lydskulpturens pionerer.

Baschet’s system i anvendt akustik forbinder lydens morfologi med lydkildens materiale, form og aktiveringsmodus. Et intuitivt system, der endnu i dag gør os i stand til at analysere vibrationsadfærden af ​​et hvilket som helst lydobjekt og bidrager til skabelsen af nye instrumenter og lydskulpturer.

Arrangementet afholdes på engelsk i samarbejde med KKT – Kommunal Kunst og Teknik og Faculty of Senses. Støttes af Art Music Denmark.

Om Martí Ruiz i Carulla

Født 1982, Barcelona / Olost del Lluçanès / 関西

Lydkunstner. Oprindeligt specialiseret i skulptur og tegning og har en nysgerrighed omkring alt, hvad der er auditivt.

Universitetsprofessor og forsker ved Sound Art Laboratory siden 2008, koordinator for UB Baschet Sound Sculpture Workshop, arbejder med anvendt akustik til skabelse af objekter og interaktiv lydskulptur til inklusiv deltagelse. Hans intensive arbejde har affødt arbejdslegater og rejser til Argentina, Brasilien, Mexico, Californien, Rusland, Kina, Japan m.fl.

Multiinstrumentalist. Uddannet guitarist, spiller på diverse strengeinstrumenter og har en passion for barokken. Han nyder også at arbejde på slagtøj af enhver art, især fundne eller konstruerede genstande (kobjælder, fliser, modificerede stemmegafler, slæbte stole ) og skulpturer, som ingen rigtig ved endnu, hvordan man spiller.

Dr. Martí Ruiz i Carulla is a professor and researcher from the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Barcelona.
Monday 15 May at 14-15.30 he visits the Danish Art Workshops to talk about the Baschet brothers’ history and essential contribution to musicology.

François Baschet (Sculptor) og Bernard Baschet (engineer) created from the 1950s innovative sound sculptures and musical instruments, such as the inflatable guitar and the Cristal Baschet, a modular family of friction instruments, which gave them a status as pioneers of sound sculpture.

Baschet’s system of applied of acoustics connects the morphology of sound to its sources’ features of material, shape and activation processes. An intuitive system, that nowadays still allows us to analyze the vibrational behavior of any existing sound object, as well as imagine and create new ones.

The event is organized in collaboration with KKT and Faculty of Senses and supported by Art Music Denmark. The talk will be in English.

Born 1982, Barcelona / Olost del Lluçanès / 関西

Sound artist. Originally specialized in sculpture and drawing and has a curiosity about all things auditory.

University professor and researcher at the Sound Art Laboratory since 2008, coordinator of the UB Baschet Sound Sculpture Workshop, works with applied acoustics for the creation of objects and interactive sound sculpture for inclusive participation. His intensive work has spawned work grants and travels to Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, California, Russia, China, Japan…

Multi-instrumentalist. A trained guitarist, he took a step forward in bowed strings due to his passion for the Baroque, and he also enjoys working on percussion instruments of all kinds, especially found or constructed objects (cowbells, tiles, modified tuning forks, dragged chairs) and sculptures, which no one really knows how to play yet.
