Join us in the exhibition for a talk about craft and ornamentation.

The Architect duo, Mentze Ottenstein, will have a conversation with cabinetmaker, Alberte Svendsen, about the hierarchies of the arts, and what it means to be working at the intersection of art and craft.

Alberte Svendsen is a cabinetmaker, who’s work merges craft traditions with experimental approaches. She primarily works with wood and straw, creating patterns and surfaces that highlight the materials’ sensorial qualities.

Mentze Ottenstein – Alexander V. Ottenstein and Mathias Mentze – work with spaces and objects in a broad sense, everything from designing furniture and objects for special places, to exhibition design and houses. In addition to an architectural practice, they have curated exhibitions about crafts and design, and the interfaces between architecture and visual arts.
