Flemming Tvede Hansen’s research area focuses on the relationship between crafting materiality and digital representation, and how experiential knowledge of crafts rooted in ceramics can be utilized in digital technologies. His research is practice-based and includes experimental 3D form finding through programming of responding digital systems. Additionally, it involves utilizing digital manufacturing techniques such as robotics and 3D printing in clay, emphasizing the significance of material properties in the design process with digital technologies.

Flemming is currently working as Associate Professor at The Royal Danish Academy, in Copenhagen, Denmark.
