Visual and audio artist Owen Armour is currently working in the studio behind the wood workshop at the Danish Art Workshops (DAW). Thursday, Nov. 9th at 4.30pm he will show us around his studio.
Armour is utilizing almost all of the various workshops at the DAW focusing on an upcoming exhibition and artist book. The book will function as a background catalog of skills, tests, thoughts, attempts and text. Thus creating the base for the works that he makes for the exhibition.
Owen explains: “I’m interested in remnants of sound left from an impact, the hum of materials and tools themselves that give birth to an “instant afterglow object”, The physical idea of a moment in time, held in a material”.
Together with editor at Kunsten.nu, Matthias Borello, Armour will discuss and demonstrate the sonic influences in his work, from meteors crashing to earth or sink holes forming, and how sound impacts shape his practice, whether it’s seen or unseen.
The entrance is free. Please send us an email saying that you’ll come: firstname.lastname@example.org
The talk will be in English.
