Professional Facilities for the Arts
The Danish Art Workshops welcomed its first artists in 1986. Since then, the workshops have played an important role in the production of several thousand visual art, crafts, design and restoration projects. Today, some 200 projects a year pass through the workshops and studios on Christianshavn.
SVFK in Numbers
SVFK plays an important role in the life of art and culture. Through more than 30 years, we have helped professional artists and designers with artistic development and production for in- and outside the country. On top of that, we share knowledge and inspiration by throwing events, producing video, and describing the projects in text and images.
Organization
The SVFK is headed by a director. Evaluation and approval of applications happen four times a year in two different commitees concerning Visual Arts and Design / Crafts. The two committees asses the applications for residencies to the Advisory Board.
