SUMMARY:Exhibition Foyer: Michael Antrobus
DESCRIPTION:UNION \n10 June – 31 July 2022 \nThe project is a partnership between industry and craftsmanship; Combining a specialist factory made stainless steel extrusion with self made tooling to produce a range of furniture items with distinctive graphic profiles. \nMichael Antrobus in the Metal Workshop\nTables in the making\nChair and stool in the making\nEach item in the collection relies on a rational framework composed of horizontal elements held between half round extrusions that are offset along parallel lines. The metal components have been produced using a combination of heat bending with a self made jig and cold forming with a manually operated bar bender. \nThe slender tabletops are made from veneered panels\, faced with solid wood. The canvas and leather elements have been cut\, finished and fitted by hand. The full collection consists of a lounge chair\, stool\, side table and coffee table. \nGrand opening: 10 June 2022 at 5pm \n– \nMichael Antrobus is a British designer based in Copenhagen. He founded his studio in 2021 with a focus on furniture\, lighting and accessories. His work is led by a hands on\, analytical approach to making\, that fuses a broad understanding of materials and production to create objects that are both functional and intriguing. \nHe previously worked for the sculptor Antony Gormley\, London based designer Tom Dixon and the Danish porcelain brand Royal Copenhagen. \nHe has been commissioned to create work for Phillips De Pury and Company\, The Victoria and Albert Museum and the Austrian Museum of Applied Arts.

SUMMARY:Artist talk: Jules Fischer
DESCRIPTION:This event will be held in English \nArtist talk: Jules Fischer\nVANITAS \nMeet Artist and Choreographer\, Jules Fischer\, during Art Week 2022\, when they open up their studio and invite the viewer to experience an intense working process revolving around non-binary narratives in large-scale performances. \nJules creates immersive experiences through different media\, but always involving a multitude of perspectives\, senses and bodies. They are interested in basic feelings such as love\, loneliness and grief\, but always from an ambivalent and queer perspective. Community or how we find each other\, what images we create and recognize\, what bodies are allowed\, what actions we participate in are some of the questions that drive their practice. \nRight now\, Jules is preoccupied with an exhibition for “Den Frie” entitled VANITAS\, which refers to baroque still life paintings where the things around us are staged to symbolize both impermanence and vanity. The performance VANITAS will take you into a dark and dreamy world of queer bodies and symbols ruled by change. Here you will meet the precariousness of finding intimacy and meaning in a landscapes dictated by binaries. \nVANITAS is a tribute to queer and trans communities everywhere and to those who must be in flux to be whole. \nArtist talk with Jules Fischer will take place in studio ”Large Formats” right behind the metal workshop\nFriday\, June 10 2022 at 3 – 4.30 pm. \nThe entrance is free\, but you have to submit an email to tilmelding@svfk.dk if you wish to join.
