DESCRIPTION:Når vi tænker på arkitektur\, tænker vi ofte i bymasse\, men det\, vi i virkeligheden oplever\, er overflader\, der omkranser os som en kulisse for det rum\, vi bevæger os i. Flader\, der definerer en volumen. Hvis vi tænker arkitektur som flader\, bliver arkitekturen lettere og tyndere som stof eller papir. Vi kan stadig tænke volumen\, men uden tyngde. \n \nJuni 2019 \nDet er tematikken for de to italienske arkitekter\, Cristina Gallizioli og Marco Ferrari\, som for øjeblikket arbejder på at skabe det\, de kalder for ”blød arkitektur”. De har en intention om at revolutionere byggebranchen med ny tekstil arkitektur og eksperimenterer derfor med at udskifte hårde overflader med slidstærke tekstiler i det midlertidige atelier på Gammel Dok. \nEt stigende befolkningstal og dermed større behov for boliger udfordrer de traditionelle byggeformer. ”Hvis murene ikke var ligeså tykke\, så ville rummene være større. Hvis husene var lettere\, ville vi spilde færre ressourcer på at bygge dem. I så fald ville rum være mere mobile\, og hurtige konstant foranderlige materialer ville give en mere holistisk oplevelse” fortæller Cristina og Marco\, alt imens de afprøver forskellige materialer og udforsker\, hvorledes man via et materiale kan skabe varme\, blødhed og oplevelsen af mere plads. \nFredag d. 28. juni kl 15.00 har du muligheden for at besøge Cristina og Marco på Statens Værksteder for Kunst og opleve materialernes egenskaber på egen krop. De to vil fortælle om deres arbejde og deres processuelle fremgangsmåde ud fra de erfaringer\, de har gjort sig gennem de seneste måneder. \nTalken vil være på engelsk. Der er fri entré og en lille snack. \nProjektet er støttet at Statens Kunstfond. \n\nEnglish: Soft Architecture \nThe two Italian Architects\, Cristina Gallizioli and Marco Ferrari\, propose to investigate the conditions of possibility of a soft architecture\, in which walls and slabs are replaced by 2d tensile surfaces. Increasing population and housing demands are challenging traditional building techniques: if walls weren’t that thick\, rooms would be larger; if houses were lighter\, less natural resources would be wasted. Space becomes mobile\, fast\, ever-changing\, material becomes a holistic experience: the revolution of a textile architecture for an increasingly connected world. \nIf you think about architecture you think about mass\, while what we happen to experience in real life are just surfaces surrounding the space where we move\, boundaries defining air volumes. What if we concentrate on boundaries\, instead of mass? If architecture becomes lighter and thinner as fabric or paper we can still experience volume\, without heaviness. \nThis is the thematical approach for the two Architects\, who at the moment are tied up in one of the big studios at the Danish Art Workshops. Their work is based on investigation and material testing with fabric on metal frames\, leading to the creation of a series of spatial ideas’ models. The idea is that Architecture as clothing with cities wearing their boundaries is able to provide warmer feelings\, increased softness and maximizing space. \nStudio Talk on Friday the 28th at 3pm – visit their studio to experience the current state of their ongoing exploration. \nThe talk will be in English.
